The Science of Aesthetic Mindfulness
Through Jazzo activities, we introduce people to a revolutionary state: aesthetic mindfulness. Working with our scientific team, we study how slow motion movement combined with aesthetic experience creates profound emotional and cognitive transformation. This groundbreaking approach connects physical practice with mental well-being in ways never before explored
Our Research Focus
  • Aesthetic Mindfulness
A unique state of consciousness where movement, beauty, and awareness merge to create a meditative experience accessible even to those who struggle with traditional practices.
  • Aesthetic Movements
The transformation of ordinary physical actions into graceful, purposeful motions through intentional deceleration, activating specific neural pathways.
  • Aesthetic Emotions
The distinctive emotional states that arise at the intersection of slowed movement and aesthetic experience, creating lasting shifts in emotional regulation.
Jazzo’s mission extends beyond practice into pioneering research, examining the benefits of:
  • Aesthetic perception and movement quality
  • Emotional modulation through movement
  • Neurological effects of slow motion techniques
  • Applications for anxiety, focus disorders, and rehabilitation contexts
Our studies reveal that aesthetic mindfulness creates unique therapeutic opportunities by engaging both attentional and aesthetic neural networks simultaneously, offering promising applications across diverse populations.

Core Team

  • Dr. Petre Rădescu
    Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist, and Researcher
Dr. Petre Rădescu is a distinguished psychiatrist and psychotherapist with extensive expertise in mental health and psychotherapy. A graduate of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Craiova, he completed his specialization in psychiatry at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Carol Davila" in Bucharest. Dr. Rădescu has advanced training in logotherapy and existential analytical psychotherapy, focusing on helping individuals find purpose and resilience through evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

Dr. Rădescu’s current research explores the therapeutic and psychological effects of slow-motion movement as a tool for enhancing mental health, emotional balance, and cognitive focus. His work integrates the principles of mindfulness, neuroaesthetics, and physical movement to develop innovative strategies for emotional resilience and stress reduction.
With years of experience in both clinical practice and research, Dr. Rădescu is dedicated to advancing mental health therapies that promote well-being, emotional resilience, and a greater connection to the self.
  • Dr. Felix Schoeller
Felix Schoeller is a scientist, inventor, and entrepreneur working at the interface between neuroscience and technology. His work has been funded by Joy Ventures, the European Commission, and the French Ministry of Defense and was featured in Centre Pompidou and Ars Electronica.
    Education
Ph.D. in cognitive science from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). Postdoctoral positions at the Gonda Brain Research Centre, MIT Media Lab, the French Institute for Health and Medical Research, and the Centre for Research and Interdisciplinarity in Paris.

    Statement from Felix Schoeller
"SlowMotionFlow intrigues me as a neuroscientist. Slow, deliberate movements can enhance body awareness, activating the brain's sensorimotor regions. This practice may strengthen neural pathways associated with mindfulness and attention, potentially improving cognitive control and emotional regulation. The combination of movement and focused attention in SlowMotionFlow could also stimulate neuroplasticity, supporting brain health and cognitive resilience. While more research is needed, the principles behind SlowMotionFlow align with our understanding of how mindful practices can positively impact brain function and structure."
Jazzo maintains a close collaboration with The Institute for Advanced Consciousness Studies (501(c)3), partnering on future scientific studies focused on the benefits of Jazzo slow motion flow. Their combined research aims to deepen our understanding of how aesthetic movement impacts human well-being.
